Ferrari Challenge Roars at Indy: Intense Racing and an Exclusive F1 Premiere!

Updated: Jul 21

Dear Drivers, Teammates and fellow Tifosi,

Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the legendary “Brickyard,” has been a cornerstone of global motorsport since its founding in 1909, most famously as the home of the Indianapolis 500. Its 2.439-mile infield circuit, a fast 14-turn layout, hosted Formula 1 from 2000 to 2007, where Ferrari clinched six victories, cementing its storied legacy at this iconic venue. The Ferrari Challenge North America returned for Round 4 of the 2025 season, bringing nearly 80 Prancing Horses to the track for a scorching weekend of racing under blistering Indiana heat, amplifying the intensity of the competition.

SATURDAY – RACE 1

On Saturday, Race 1 saw Jeff Nunberg start strong from P3 in Coppa Shell-AM, rocketing to the lead on the first lap and building a commanding gap within 10 laps. An unfortunate spin at Turn 1 dropped him to P7, but his early pace showcased his potential. Osvaldo Gaio, starting P13 in Coppa Shell, displayed remarkable race craft, charging through the field to finish P9, a testament to his relentless drive on this demanding circuit.

SUNDAY – RACE 2

Sunday’s Race 2 highlighted Gaio’s momentum, as he qualified P7 in Coppa Shell and carried his aggressive pace into the race, gaining several positions early on. A late spin derailed his charge, relegating him to P10, but his speed underscored his growing prowess. The unpredictable twists of Indy kept drivers and fans on edge, with the everchanging weather conditions adding an extra layer of challenge to the weekend’s battles.

In the Club Challenge, Roger Xu continued his journey in his third Club Challenge event, showing steady improvement toward his goal of joining the racing grid. His determination on Indy’s hallowed grounds reflected the spirit of Ferrari’s clienti programs, where enthusiasts hone their skills alongside seasoned competitors.

Saturday night added a touch of Hollywood glamour, as Ferrari North America treated the grid to an exclusive IMAX screening of the highly anticipated F1 Movie starring Brad Pitt and produced by Ferrari’s very own, Lewis Hamilton. The event, blending cinematic excitement with Ferrari’s racing heritage, created a memorable off-track highlight for drivers and guests, celebrating the sport’s global allure.

Next Up: The Ferrari Challenge now heads to Watkins Glen International for Round 5 from July 23-27th. This 3.45-mile circuit has been a motorsport staple since 1956 and hosted the US Grand Prix from 1961 to 1980, where Ferrari secured three wins. Drivers love “The Glen” for its flowing, high-speed corners and elevation changes, which demand precision and reward bravery, making it a favorite on the calendar.

We look forward to seeing you at The Glen! As always, Forza Ferrari!
